Hip-hop superstar Kanye West has finished recording his brand new album, according to Hot 97 DJ Paul Rosenberg.
The 35 year-old last released a solo album in 2010, with ‘My Beautiful, Dark, Twisted Fantasy’ - now, he’s set to return with his sixth record, which hasn’t yet been named. Described as ‘dark’ and ‘gritty’, it’s release date is still unknown, but we imagine it’ll probably hit shelves before winter.
Hot 97 host and DJ Paul Rosenberg broke the news on air earlier this week, revealing that West’s label Def Jam had recently held a listening party for the record. You can check out a recording of Rosenberg’s statement below. He said:
“I just heard that Def Jam had a listening last week, Everyone at the label that listened to the album loved it. I've heard it's dark, but really good.”
Recently, we revealed that West had been working with French house duo Daft Punk - who release their own new album next month - on the record. You can read more about that here.
