Muse Plan Intimate 20th Anniversary Gigs

Thursday, 02 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Electronic rock icons Muse have revealed their plans for their 20th anniversary - and it could very well see them performing in some intimate venues!

The world-beating outfit kick off their four-date stadium tour later this month, following the release of their sixth studio album ‘The 2nd Law’ last year. But, they’re already looking to the future, and are making plans for their 20th anniversary, which takes place in February next year - and they’ve got some ‘special’ shows in the pipeline!

Drummer Dominic Howard told XFM:

“It's our 20th anniversary year and I can't believe it – it's February next year or something, so I think we'll definitely do something special for it. Hopefully [we will] do some special shows for it or something. It will be nice to celebrate that and play some little club somewhere and go, 'Jesus Christ, can't believe we're 20 years old as a band!'”

If you’re struggling with the maths, a 20th anniversary next year means it was 1994 when they first got together. Their self-titled debut came four years later in 1998, and was followed by their debut album ‘Showbiz’ in 1999. Four years later, they earned their first UK #1 with ‘Absolution’ - and they’ve hit #1 with every ensuing record.

Muse are undeniably one of the UK’s best rock outfits, so make sure you don’t miss them on their up and coming stadium tour - check below to find tickets through Stereoboard.
