As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Faces Up To Nine Years In Prison - Statement Released

Wednesday, 08 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Following on from this morning’s astonishing news that As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis has been arrested and charged with ‘Solicitation of Another to Commit Murder’, it’s been revealed via a statement from the Sheriff’s department that he could face up to nine years inside.

Lambesis was arrested after reportedly attempting to hire a hitman to take out his wife Meggan Lambesis, from whom he is currently separated. Though not much is known about the charges and how likely it is that they’re true, he was apparently caught after contacting an undercover police detective - suggesting that there may indeed be truth behind the news.

Now, a new statement - coming via Artisan News Service - has arrived from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, and it strongly suggests that Lambesis could be going down for a long while.

The statement - which you can check out in the YouTube embed below - reads:

“Information came to us late last week — last Thursday, to be specific — that Lambesis was soliciting another individual to kill his estranged wife, who also resides in the area. Our detectives, our fugitive task force and the sheriff’s special investigations division immediately initiated an investigation into this allegation. We worked around the clock through the weekend and that culminated this afternoon when Lambesis solicited an undercover detective to kill his wife.”

It was then revealed that he’s currently being held in the Vista Detention Facility in California, before another spokesperson continued:

“The next step will be Lambesis’ initial appearance in court, and that is where the charges are read, and if there’s a bail to be set. And they will go from there and start setting different court dates. The investigation at our end is still ongoing, and I can’t go into detail on that. And, thankfully, no one was hurt. But I believe that the captain who commented earlier said that we averted a tragedy today.”

We’ll have to wait a little longer for the rest of this story to unfold, but it’s been revealed that he may face up to nine years in the slammer if he’s found guilty. What do you think of the news? Let us know in the comment section below.
