American superstar Eminem has unveiled brand new track ‘Symphony in H’, the first taster of what’s hopefully to come on the star’s forthcoming seventh studio album.
Though the track doesn’t actually appear on the new record (it instead forms part of rapper and DJ Tony Touch’s new mixtape ‘The Piece Maker 3: Return of the 50 MCs’), it’s the first new material from the million-selling Detroit man since his last album ‘Recovery’ hit shelves in 2010 and should give fans an indication of what level he’s working on ahead of his new album’s release later this year.
You can check out the new track using the embedded SoundCloud player below - it’s already clocked-up almost 400,000 listens, and the general consensus is that he’s back on top form. One comment reads ‘Shady back to his best’, while another says, ‘I’ve been waiting forever for this... like I’m sure you all have been’.
The return of the real Slim Shady seems to be something that everyone wants, and yesterday Eminem’s close friend DJ Alchemist revealed that his new record will see just that.
“Clearly going to further territories. I think what you would expect, especially after the last go-round. He was just getting his feet back on 'Relapse' and then 'Recovery' just came with the smash hits and everything and I think now - he's Eminem.”
With a new album on the way, fans will be hoping he’ll perform some of his new material when he hits the UK and Ireland for gigs this summer - he’s lined-up shows in Dublin and Glasgow, and will also headline Reading and Leeds Festival.
