Rod Stewart Hints At The Faces Reunion: "Ronnie And I Talk About It"

Tuesday, 02 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Rock legend Rod Stewart has confessed that he and Ronnie Wood are interested in reforming the Faces - if the Rolling Stones finish and Wood is free.

The Faces previously reformed for a charity show in 2009, but Stewart didn’t join them. He was replaced by a number of guest vocalists, and then later Mick Hucknall, who accompanied them for festival dates in 2009 and 2010. But now, Stewart seems to be up for getting back together with his old band - meaning the Rolling Stones are the only obstacle in the way of a full reunion.

Speaking to The Express, Stewart explained:

“I’d like to return with the Faces. Ronnie and I talk about it, and when the Stones finish – Mick is several years older than me – we’ll have a window of opportunity, if we’re not on Zimmers.”

Possibly trying to goad Jagger into calling time on the Stones, he went on to claim he was a better singer than him - saying:

“Mick’s a fine blues singer – but technically not as good as me. He’s made the best of what he’s got. But I don’t think he could do standards – he may not want to.”
