American boyband Backstreet Boys have opened up about their forthcoming new album ‘In a World Like This’ ahead of its release at the end of the month.
The new record will be the eighth of their career, and is the first to feature all five members for six years. According to an interview with Digital Spy, it’s a return to the original Backstreet Boys sound that their fans first fell in love with, and is ‘really eclectic’.
Kevin Richardson told the site:
“The whole album is really eclectic in its sounds. It's funny you say that though, because Max actually took some of the original sounds he used for songs like 'As Long As You Love Me' and incorporated them into the album to create that throwback sound.
“That said, we also worked with Martin Terefe in London who created all sorts of other sounds - acoustic, R&B and straight-up pop. We love the album's versatility.”
They went on to claim that after 20 years of singing and performing, they still feel no reason to hang up their mics and retire.
“As long as we're enjoying it, have a passion for it and want to do it, there's no reason why we ever have to quit.”
