Nile Rodgers Denies Daft Punk Performance At New York Charity Concert Next Month

Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers has quashed rumours that French house duo Daft Punk are playing at his charity concert later this summer.
The star is putting on a one-day fundraising festival in New York’s Martha Clara Vineyards on August 19, and he’ll be performing alongside his Chic bandmates - while ‘special guests’ are also billed to play the event too.
While recently discussing the event’s line-up, he told fans via his website:
“There's going to be me, my band Chic, and some of the hottest acts and surprises on the planet that day... which happens to be around the time the next Daft Punk single drops (I'm just saying).”
After posting the message, a number of media outlets took it as an indication that Daft Punk would be performing too, but it turns out that he actually was ‘just saying’ - and he’s taken to Facebook to deny that the DJs will be hitting up the event
He wrote:
“HOLD ON: To be totally clear, Daft Punk is not playing at my charity event. In no way did I mean to imply what some press outlets have mistakenly interpreted from my blog post!”
