Grunge icons Pearl Jam have announced that will be teaming-up with Sirius XM Radio to stream a secret show in Seattle next month.
The band are gearing up for the release of their 10th studio album, 'Lightning Bolt', on October 14 and to mark the milestone will appear at a special event at a secret location in their hometown of Seattle on October 3. The event, which has been put together in conjunction with Sirius XM Radio Town Hall Series, will also see 'Lightning Bolt' played in full for the first time.
To stand a chance of attending, fans need to enter the Sirius XM Pearl Jam Town Hall Sweepstakes. Those of who aren’t lucky enough to be in the area, or miss out in the sweepstakes, can stream the event via Pearl Jam Radio, the Sirius XM Internet Radio App, or the Sirius XM website.
Guitarist Stone Gossard said of the event:
“We're excited to head into uncharted band territory with our SiriusXM 'Town Hall'. Since this is one of the first times that any of our fans will have the chance to hear Lightning Bolt , I'm psyched to see how they respond to the new music and to answer some of their questions about the making of the record.”
Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer at SiriusXM, adds:
“Pearl Jam and their music have become emblematic of a generation of rock music and have inspired musicians for the past two decades, and they continue to create new music that has intensity and passion. This event, broadcast from the band's home town, will offer lucky winners the opportunity to ask questions in person to one of the world's most influential bands. For subscribers nationwide it will be a rare treat to hear directly from the band.”
