Susan Boyle Announces Christmas Record - Featuring A Duet With Elvis Presley

Tuesday, 10 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Susan Boyle has announced details of her fifth studio album, ‘Home For Christmas’.

The X Factor sensation makes her acting debut in new film The Christmas Candle later this year and obviously enjoyed the festivities so much that she’s hit the studio to record a seasonal collection of tracks.

The 52-year-old has been on fine form these past five years, releasing a critically acclaimed album annually. This year is no different and she’s pulling out all the stops to ensure she’s in with a chance of scoring another #1.

Set for release on October 29, ‘Home for Christmas’ sees Boyle giving her take on a selection of her all-time favourite December tunes. The album also features collaborations with the Overtones, Johnny Mathis and a posthumous duet with the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley, on the track O Come All Ye Faithful - something that no other British artist in history can boast.

Speaking of the record, Boyle said:

“Christmas is still my most favourite time of the year, I have fond memories of family Christmas' growing up. To be able to put a unique twist on classic Christmas songs is truly wonderful. To sing with Elvis, well I didn't think it would be possible, isn't technology brilliant.

“I grew up with Elvis playing in my home. My father was a huge fan, so to be able to duet with Elvis on a track on my own album, well, my father would be so proud. This song is for him and his love of Elvis.”
