Jake Bugg has announced a brand new album, ‘Shangri La’, as well as details of its lead single What Doesn’t Kill You.
The Nottingham 19-year-old exploded onto the British music scene last year, releasing a series of popular singles before storming to the top of the charts with his acclaimed self-titled debut album, which even broke into the Billboard 200 at #75 too.
Now, after spending the past year hard at work on the tour bus, Jake is close to finishing his second record ‘Shangri La’. The lead single from the new album - which drops on November 18 - is What Doesn’t Kill You, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last night. It’s already racking up the plays on YouTube, and is receiving many positive comments too.
Speaking about his new album and its inspirations, Bugg commented:
“It came quick but, for me, music's what I do to get away from stuff... Even though it's been crazy, when I have time to myself, it's me picking up my guitar. I travelled lots and had some crazy experiences, so I had a lot to write about!”
Bugg has had an outstanding year, and it’s only getting better, as well as receiving a nomination for the Mercury Prize, he’s currently on tour of the US, and when he gets back, he’ll be performing across the UK too.
