Jake Bugg Announces Seventh Album 'Alamo' Alongside 2027 UK And European Tour

Jake Bugg has announced his seventh studio album.

The Nottingham artist will release 'Alamo' on November 13, following 2024's 'A Modern Day Distraction' and its 2025 deluxe edition. His first album for the Thirty Tigers label was produced by the multi-Grammy-winning duo of longtime friend and producer Jimmy Hogarth and Steve McKewan. It finds Bugg returning to his folk roots with 11 raw, honest and unfiltered country arrangements. He said:

"After all the years of touring and making records, it just felt like the right time to look inward. The last couple of years have been tough for me and I’ve had a lot of struggles. I’m trying to navigate those and figure out where they stem from.

"‘Alamo’ was only going to work if I was going to be honest and be as vulnerable as possible. I’ve always had a lot of defenses and barriers around me. I thought it was time to bring those down."

Alongside the announcement, the 32-year-old singer-songwriter has shared the catchy first single Never Can Tell, a country-tinged, guitar-driven offering about friendships after finding success. He explained:

"It’s really fucking hard to know who to trust in this day and age, especially growing up how I did and having to be vigilant and observant of the people around you. The song is about that. Life throws so many parallels at you and it’s hard to know which way to go. People tell you different things and you’ve just got to go with what your gut tells you."

Bug has also scheduled a stripped-back solo tour across the UK, Ireland and Europe for 2027, which includes a hometown show at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall and a performance at London's Union Chapel on February 23 and 26, respectively. Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 10am local time on September 11.

Ahead of the tour, Bugg will headline Musicians Corner at Nashville's Centennial Park on September 18 as part of Americana Fest.
