The highly anticipated rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves will go ahead at London's Wembley Stadium on May 31, the first time the new stadium has hosted a fight - tickets are set to go on sale this coming Monday at Noon.
Dubbed as being the biggest British bout for some time, the first fight between Froch and Groves took place in Manchester last November and was described by fans as a modern-day classic. Despite being knocked down in the first round, the more experienced Froch took the glory, albeit in controversial circumstances, with the referee stopping the contest in the ninth round after Groves come under a sustained attack for the first time. When the fight was stopped, Groves was leading on the scorecards and Froch's victory was booed by the crowd. Both fighters see the rematch as a chance to put the record straight.
The fight will follow previous famous Wembley Stadium bouts which took place at the old stadium; Henry Cooper's first meeting with Muhammad Ali in 1963, Frank Bruno against Tim Witherspoon in 1986 and Bruno's victory over Oliver McCall in 1995.
