Nahko and Medicine for the People will release their new album, 'Hoka', in June.
The American music collective's new record is due to arrive on June 10 via SideOne Dummy Records. Discussing the title, frontman Nahko Bear said:
"Hoka is a Lakota word, it is a call to action. It's what Crazy Horse would say when he went into battle, 'Hoka, hey!' My call is to put action to the words that I speak and the lyrics I sing. Not just to talk, but to do."
Meanwhile, check out the video for the record's first single, San Quentin, written by Nahko about visiting the man responsible for murdering his father, below.
Nahko and Medicine for the People will return to the UK this summer. The Portland band will play August shows at London’s KOKO and the Cheese and Grain in Frome, in addition to festival sets at Boardmasters, Boomtown Fair and Lakefest.
Nahko and Medicine For The People Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:
Wed August 10 2016 - LONDON KOKO
Thu August 11 2016 - FROME Cheese & Grain
