Giraffe Tongue Orchestra To Release 'Broken Lines' In September

Monday, 20 June 2016 Written by Huw Baines

Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, a band comprising members of Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon and Alice in Chains, have confirmed the autumn arrival of their debut album.

‘Broken Lines’ is out on September 23, with Dillinger’s Ben Weinman, Brent Hinds of Mastodon and Alice in Chains vocalist William DuVall joined by Pete Griffin of Dethklok and Thomas Pridgen of the Mars Volta.

Discussing the record, DuVall said:

“Writing lyrics for these songs was somewhat like writing for film – the mood shifts rapidly and drastically within a song…sometimes the whole scene changes. There were a lot of times where, if you were trying to impose conventional rock songwriting standards on this, you’d be in a whole world of trouble.”

Giraffe Tongue Orchestra will play Reading and Leeds this summer.
