Saint Etienne Announce New Album 'Home Counties' And Summer UK Tour, Share New Track Heather

Saint Etienne have announced a new album and a summer UK tour.
'Home Counties', the follow up to 2012's 'Words and Music by Saint Etienne', is due for release on June 2. The 19 new tracks are "inspired by our bittersweet relationship with the eponymous shires that have always been part of our lives" and were recorded last autumn.
Discussing the record, Sarah Cracknell said:
"We had so much fun writing for this album, drawing influence from our teenage years growing up in the home counties. Bob, Pete and I led almost parallel lives while I was in Windsor and they were in Surrey, developing our passion for music and London. Shawn Lee was a joy to work with, he’s a wonderful multi-instrumentalist who seemed to have some kind of telepathy with us and translated our ideas perfectly. The record is quite varied in styles and brings together a little something from all our past albums whilst sounding completely new.”

The trio will support the record with a UK tour, which will include stops in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Bexhill, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Sheffield and Manchester between June 2 and 11.
They will also play Hebden Bridge Trades Club on May 26 as a warm up for their performance at Oxford's Common People festival the following day and Primavera on May 31.
Tickets for the band's headline dates go on sale at 9am tomorrow.
