Courtney Marie Andrews has released a video for Irene from her LP, 'Honest Life'.
The rising US singer-songwriter released 'Honest Life' in January. Speaking about the track, Andrews said:
"Irene is the little voice inside most of us, that says we aren't good enough, or strong enough. It's about shutting that voice off, while also accepting life's inevitable struggles. It's about coming to terms with who you are, and believing in that person. Irene was written for a friend who was going through a confusing time, but like some songs do, over time it turned into a song about not only myself, but all of the women that I love. Irene is amazing, she just doesn't know it yet."
Mama Bird Recording Co. and Fat Possum Records have announced a US indie store reissue of 'Honest Life' which will include a bonus 7" of unreleased recordings. The limited edition 7” single, which includes newly recorded tracks Sea Town and Near You, will be made available in the UK and Europe via Loose on September 15.
Andrews will return to the UK and Ireland towards the end of August for headline shows in Leeds, Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and Bristol, before two nights at London's Bush Hall. She also appears at End of the Road festival on September 2 plus Bangor's Open House festival and Moseley Folk Festival.
