Inheaven Share Video For World On Fire

Wednesday, 26 July 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Inheaven have shared a video for World On Fire.

The song is lifted from their self-titled debut LP, which is due out on September 1, with shows set to follow in Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield, Stoke, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leicester, Bristol, Nottingham, Cardiff, Oxford, London, Brighton and Southampton.

In a statement about the video, the band said:

“Inspired by the 1692 witch trials of Colonial Massachusetts, Barbara Creed’s ‘The Monstrous-Feminine’, and ‘The Devils’ by Ken Russell, the ‘World on Fire’ video tells the story of a young puritan woman who comes back from the dead to seek revenge on the men who persecuted her for being a ‘witch’. Whilst the premise may be presented as a 17th century problem, it feels very much alive and well in today’s society - there is a dread of difference that we still accept.”

The London-based band will also appear at a number of festivals this summer, including 110 Above and Reading and Leeds.
