Calexico Post New Song Voices In The Field

Tuesday, 28 November 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Calexico have unveiled a new track.

Voices in the Field is the latest to be lifted from 'The Thread That Keeps Us', the follow up to 2015's 'Edge of the Sun', which is due out on January 26 through City Slang.

Discussing the track, vocalist and guitarist Joey Burns said:

"In the age of the extremes, when walls attempt stifling words, this song is inspired by the poems on postcards from those uprooted by war and oppression. It’s a song to remind us to open up our hearts and hear other voices sing their stories.

I was listening to Mavis Staples, Bombino, Joe Strummer and Bob Dylan."

The Arizona band will return to the UK in March as part of their European tour in support of the new record. Tickets are on sale now.

Calexico Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Wed March 28 2018 - BRISTOL Trinity Centre
Thu March 29 2018 - LONDON O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
