Lana Del Rey has issued a statement regarding a lawsuit with Radiohead.
The singer alleges the band "want 100% of the publishing" for one of her songs, which she says "wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was." The issue is rumoured to be with Get Free, the closing track of her latest album, 'Lust For Life'.
Radiohead, meanwhile, were successfully sued over Creep by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood due to its resemblance to the Hollies' 1972 song The Air That I Breathe, which they wrote. The band have not yet commented on the new lawsuit.
UPDATE 10/01: Rolling Stone, along with other outlets, has reported the following statement from 'a rep for Warner/Chappell':
"As Radiohead's music publisher, it's true that we’ve been in discussions since August of last year with Lana Del Rey's representatives," the statement read. "It's clear that the verses of 'Get Free' use musical elements found in the verses of 'Creep' and we've requested that this be acknowledged in favor of all writers of 'Creep.' To set the record straight, no lawsuit has been issued and Radiohead have not said they 'will only accept 100 percent' of the publishing of 'Get Free.'"
