Def Leppard Confirm 'Hysteria' UK and Ireland Tour, Release Back Catalogue On Streaming Services

Friday, 19 January 2018 Written by Helen Payne

Def Leppard will head to arenas across the UK and Ireland in December.

The British rockers will perform their 1987 seminal record, 'Hysteria', in its entirety, plus other hits, at 11 shows, including a return to Sheffield Arena for a homecoming date, and their first ever show at the O2 arena in London.

The tour, which also features stops in Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, will be their first UK and Ireland trek since their arena tour in 2015. Tickets go on sale at 9am on January 26.

Speaking about it, Rick 'Sav' Savage said:

"After many requests from fans in the UK, I'm delighted that we can bring the whole 'Hysteria' album to arenas across Britain and Ireland later this year. From Women to Love and Affection plus many other faves thrown in for good measure. Oh, and our old pals Cheap Trick will be there also to help with the celebrations!! We can't wait.”

The band have also released their full catalogue of material on streaming services for the first time. Vocalist Joe Elliott commented:

"It is with a mixture of relief and euphoria that we now see our entire catalogue finally getting a digital release. Having embraced every other format with open arms, especially and more recently the re-emergence of vinyl, we’re now going to be available to everyone everywhere and honestly, it’s as exciting as the original releases were."

While Paul Simon may not be as prolific as Bob Dylan (38 solo albums) or Van Morrison (39), he might beat both artists in terms of consistent quality. Records like ‘Rhythm of the Saints’, released in 1990, and 2016’ s ‘Surprise’ often matched the brilliance of his work with Art Garfunkel, but may have been overlooked due to ageism within pop music.

Photo: Shelly Mosman It’s not often that an album comes along and bowls you over into a state of sheer stupefaction. The Minnesota trio Low have always dabbled in minimalist experimentation, but their 12th full-length offering, ‘Double Negative’, cranks things up a notch. With Bon Iver producer B.J. Burton once again on hand, they manage to accomplish a giant leap forward without ever losing sight of who they are.
