Gold Key Share New Single Mechanical World, Announce UK Tour With Black Peaks

Monday, 18 June 2018 Written by Helen Payne

Gold Key have shared a new single.

Mechanical World premiered on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show last night and is the Watford-based alt-rock band's first new material since 2017's 'Hello Phantom'.

Discussing the song, vocalist Steve Sears noted:

"It's a song about feeling suffocated by the world, not being able to shut off from the technology we simultaneously rely on. It's easy to moan about the evils of social media whilst being totally addicted to it. Nearly all of us have created our own artificial world - an alternate reality where we constantly look successful and happy through the photos we have chosen to share with the world."

Alongside the new track, the quartet have announced that they will be supporting Black Peaks on their UK tour this October. They also have a set lined up at 2000trees festival next month.
