Sinead O’Connor has changed her recording artist alias to Magda Davitt, and has released her first single under the new name, which she adopted last year.
Milestones opens with a cluster of sustained strings, before we are greeted by Davitt’s husky yet powerful vocals that haunt the listener right through to the ghostly closing bars.
Available exclusively through The Irish Sun, Davitt has firmly labelled the track a “first demo for fans”. It is a collaboration with the Northern Irish producer David Holmes, and is the first cut from an upcoming EP.
‘No Mud No Lotus’ does not yet have a release date, although Davitt has specified it will not be out before October 2019. Fans still have a little while to wait.
