Thursday, 09 August 2018 Written by Huw Baines

Cher has made good on her promise to release an LP of Abba covers. 'Dancing Queen' is out on September 28 and news of its arrival has been ushered in with her cover of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!.

Fresh from her starring role in the recent Mamma Mia! sequel, Cher lends some Believe-style vocoder vocals to a beefed-up version of the disco classic. It sits on the tracklist alongside the title track, SOS, Waterloo, Mamma Mia, and more.

There is a method of mastering in dance music production - pioneered by Daft Punk - that involves increasing sidebar compression on the kick drum.
