Skunk Anansie Announce Career-Spanning Live Album '25LIVE@25'

Wednesday, 03 October 2018 Written by Laura Johnson

Sunk Anansie have announced a career-spanning live album.

'25LIVE@25' is due to drop on January 25 and marks their 25th anniversary as a band. Looking back on their career, vocalist Skin said:

“As a black female singer, it was hard to get accepted in many ways. And then I was onstage, doing exactly what I envisioned in my dreams. And I felt for the first time that I was accepted.”

Guitarist Ace added:

“London in the 1990s was a mish-mash of people. But bands weren’t – it was always four blokes with identical haircuts. We were a band of people who were real. That’s why we were radical.”

Head below to watch a new video for a live version of the band's 1996 single Weak, which achieves peak nostalgia by featuring footage from numerous performances over the years.
