Isaac Gracie has shared a video for Show Me Love.
The track is taken from his new EP, 'Close Up - Looking Down', which will arrive on November 16 and follow up his self-titled debut LP that dropped earlier in the year. It features three other songs, two more new tracks and a cover of The Strokes’ You Only Live Once.
About Show Me Love, he said:
“Coming out of the first record I was in a redemptive headspace and wanted to write songs with a more empowered tone, and record them in a more optimistic light.
He also commented on its video:
“Some of my favourite music videos are the ones that don’t take themselves too seriously; the ones that bring a certain levity to an otherwise potentially over sincere tune.
With this video I wanted to do something in my neighbourhood for the first time; the idea came from the fact that I’d taken up skipping as a means to keep fit over summer and a desire to spoof upon my futile efforts, whilst the tennis game against myself loosely represents the somewhat melodramatic nature of the song, a kind of reflection of the inwardly conflicted state of the protagonist.
Myself and my friend Jackson Ducasse [director] worked on the idea together.”
The song is an upbeat indie-folk number on which Gracie's vast vocals steal the show, while the video is a throwback to the '80s.
The singer-songwriter will follow up the record's release with a UK tour, calling in Manchester, Leeds, Hebden Bridge, Exeter, Falmouth, Bath and London during November. Tickets are on sale now.
