Sade Unveils New Track The Big Unknown

Monday, 12 November 2018 Written by Laura Johnson

Sade has unveiled a new track.

The Big Unknown was recorded for the soundtrack to the new Steve McQueen film Widows. The record was scored by Hans Zimmer and also features songs by Nina Simone and the Cool Kids. It's available now digitally, with physical releases set to follow in December.

Sade returned with another new track, Flower of the Universe, in March. It marked her first new material since 2010's 'Soldier of Love' and appeared on the soundtrack for the Disney film A Wrinkle in Time.

The Big Unknown is a piano-led ballad that allows Sade's vocals to take centre stage, while keys are later joined by guitar and drums that pulse like a heartbeat. "I'm just tryna hold on, I'm falling in the dark below, I feel I'm falling in the big unknown," she sings on the chorus.
