José Carreras Cancels Kenwood House London Show Due To Adverse Weather Conditions

Monday, 17 June 2019 Written by Laura Johnson

José Carreras, one of the legendary Three Tenors, was forced to cancel his London show this weekend due to adverse weather conditions.

Carreras was due to bring his Farewell To Music Tour to Kenwood House in London on June 16 to celebrate his 60-year career accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by David Gimenez and featuring Chrissy Johnston.

However, the show was cancelled due to the poor weather and safety concerns. A statement from Heritage Live organisers said:

"We regret to announce that in the interest of customer safety we have had to take the decision to cancel today’s event. The safety of our audience, performers and staff is of utmost priority. High winds conditions and poor ground conditions due to torrential rain over the past week forced us to take the advice of our safety officers."

Carreras commented:

“I am so very disappointed that this evening’s concert at Kenwood House has been cancelled. On the promotors advice and their safety officials I cannot possibly risk the safety of my dear audience. I am very disappointed, and I hope to come back to the UK very soon!”

Ticket holders will receive a full refund at their point of purchase.
