Alkaline Trio And Bad Religion Announce Spring North American Co-Headline Tour

Thursday, 12 December 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion are hitting the road together in 2020.

The legendary punk bands will combine for 18 shows, commencing on March 26 at the Palladium in Los Angeles, before stops in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Denver, Austin, Dallas, Orlando, Norfolk, Silver Spring, Buffalo, Asbury Park, Worcester, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Detroit, Columbus and Chicago, concluding on April 19 in Milwaukee.

Tickets go on general sale at 12pm local time on December 13. Bad Religion frontman, Greg Graffin said:

"This tour is extra special: Not only are we celebrating our 40th anniversary, but we get to do it with Alkaline Trio… really excited about this!"

Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba, who has been playing with Blink-182, added:

"Bad Religion was one of my first loves. I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard Suffer around age 12. They are one of the very reasons I started playing punk rock music and continue to today."

Bad Religion put out 'Age of Unreason' in May, while Alkaline Trio released their last album, 'Is This Thing Cursed?', in 2018.

Although the average metal fan won’t exactly be in thrall to ‘90s romcom Jerry Maguire, it does contain a quote that’s pertinent here. At the conclusion of his passionately protracted monologue, Renee Zellweger famously tells Tom Cruise “you had me at hello.” Speaking with similar heart about this live offering, Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand proclaimed, “We're extremely proud of the fact it's 100% live with absolutely no overdubs!”, before needlessly unveiling plenty of details about the release. Josh, you had us at ‘100% live.’
