Glasgow's Playground Festival Rescheduled To September Due To Coronavirus

Thursday, 09 April 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

This year's Playground Festival has been rescheduled due to the coronavirus.

The three-day event was set to return to Glasgow's Rouken Glen Park this summer to host a mix of iconic and new acts, but will instead take place in September. In a statement, organisers said:

"The ongoing health and safety of our Playground family is our top priority.

"Therefore following the guidance from the Scottish & UK Government that large scale gatherings should currently not take place due to COVID-19, we have taken the decision to postpone Playground 2020.

"This decision comes after much consideration and consultation with our artists, partners and East Renfrewshire Council (ERC). To ensure that this year’s edition of the festival goes ahead in the same great location, with its amazing vibe and great artists then this postponement is in everyone’s best interest."
