Pop Smoke has died aged 20.

The drill rapper, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was reportedly shot and killed during a home invasion this morning (February 19), according to TMZ, who broke the news. He was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, where he was officially pronounced dead. It has not been confirmed if the armed burglars were known to him.

The Brooklyn artist released the deluxe edition of his ‘Meet The Woo Vol. 2' mixtape earlier this month, and was due to support it on tour in North America and the UK this spring, with the latter including two sold-out shows at the O2 Forum in London. He also had a performance planned at Wireless Festival in July.

Pop Smoke's 2019 viral hit Welcome To The Party had been remixed by the likes of Skepta and Nicki Minaj.
