Mike Shinoda Announces New Twitch-Assisted Album 'Dropped Frames, Vol. 1'

Tuesday, 30 June 2020 Written by Huw Baines

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has announced a new album created while using the streaming platform Twitch.

'Dropped Frames, Vol. 1' is out on July 10 and comprises music created with the input of fans engaging with Shinoda's marathon streaming sessions. “Dropped Frames is just as much about the live channel as it is about the ‘album’,” Shinoda said in a statement.

“The collection of songs is a highlight reel of the tracks I make on the channel, but a big part of the experience is the stream itself. When I start, I usually have very little idea of where it will go. What comes out is a product of the viewers’ suggestions, my spur-of-the-moment ideas, and whatever inexplicable magic is floating in between.”

Head below to stream three new songs: Open Door, Super Galaxtica and Osiris. Shinoda released his first solo LP, ‘Post Traumatic’, back in 2018.
