Friday, 21 August 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

A new Thin Lizzy box set has been announced.

To celebrate 50 years of the rock icons, Universal Music will release 'Rock Legends' on October 23. Compiled by Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham and band expert Nick Sharp, the deluxe edition (pictured) will feature 99 tracks in total, including 74 that have never been released and another nine that make their first CD appearance.

Along with the music, the set comes with an array of other previously unseen material spanning the band's whole career, such as books, prints, and replica tour programmes. A DVD containing a 1976 live performance from a Rod Stewart TV special and a 60-minute BBC documentary film titled Bad Reputation will also be included.

In related news, the first trailer for the upcoming documentary about vocalist Phil Lynott's life, Songs For While I’m Away, has been released. The film will hit cinemas in autumn 2020, with a release date to be confirmed in due course.
