The reworking of Malvina Reynolds' No Hole In My Head serves as the second taster of the iconic vocalist's forthcoming 41st studio album, 'Surrounded By Time', a diverse collection of covers due out on April 23 via S-Curve Records/BMG. Jones said:
"This song is powerful at any age. It's about having confidence in who you are. Particularly during this time of a pervasive, boundless media that can wield so much influence, it's more important than ever to know and be strong in your own self."
The track rolls out over pounding percussion as Jones delivers his signature gruff vocals, while its bold video finds the 80-year-old facing up to a masked oppressor.
The song follows the recent reinterpretation of Todd Snider's Talking Reality Television Blues, a daring spoken word departure for the star. The LP also features updated versions of tracks by Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, and Bobby Cole.
Jones' last studio record came in the form of 2015's 'Long Lost Suitcase'. He'll embark on his rescheduled A Celebration Tour of the UK and Europe this summer.
