Newton Faulkner Announces The Interference (Of Light) UK And Ireland Tour For Autumn

Newton Faulkner has confirmed TheInterference (Of Light) Tour for the autumn.
The singer-songwriter will support his forthcoming album of the same name with 15 shows across the UK and Ireland between October 11 and November 2.
Stops include Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Hull, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham, London, Norwich, Oxford, Bristol, Torquay and Dublin. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on March 26.
The dates will follow Faulkner's rescheduled UK tour in September and October, which was initially due to take place in spring, but was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. Original tickets remain valid.
The follow-up to 2017's 'Hit The Ground Running' is due out in August, though a release date is still to be confirmed. Faulkner also put out his own greatest hits compilation, 'The Very Best Of Newton Faulkner...So Far', in 2019. He said:
"I am incredibly proud to announce my new album..... 'Interference (Of Light)'! One positive of such a difficult year has been that it’s given me way more studio time than ever before and as a result of this I am CRAZY happy with this record. I can’t quite believe it, but this will be my eighth studio album, so an enormous THANK YOU to everyone that’s supported me from the beginning. You guys are the best! If you're new to me, nice to meet you.
"I'm not very precious any more. The music is a bit chunkier, it's definitely way heavier and much less acoustic than previously. I feel like the stuff I’ve written recently is simpler, but it’s tasteful… it works as songs. I can feel it.
"I want to boil things down to their strongest form. It's about the songs. However good you are at playing, if the voice isn’t up to scratch and the songs aren’t good enough, no one is going to listen to them.
"It's grizzly, soulful, and a step further. Vocally, I’ve learned a huge amount over the years. I was a guitarist and a writer who sang. That’s kind of where I came from. And now I feel like my voice has caught up with the stuff I was doing on guitar."
