Torres Announces New Album 'Thirstier' And Accompanying Tour Dates

Torres has shared details of her new album, 'Thirstier'.
The follow-up to 2020's 'Silver Tongue' will arrive on July 30 and feature the newly unveiled lead single Don't Go Puttin Wishes In My Head, a slice of anthemic synth-rock.
Recorded at Middle Farm Studios in Newton Abbot, South Devon during the pandemic in autumn 2020, it marks Mackenzie Scott's second full-length on Merge Records and her fifth LP overall. She said:
"I've been conjuring this deep, deep joy that I honestly didn’t feel for most of my life. I feel like a rock within myself. And I've started to feel that I have what it takes to help other people conjure their joy, too."
She added: "I wanted to channel my intensity into something that felt positive and constructive, as opposed to being intense in a destructive or eviscerating way. I love the idea that intensity can actually be something life-saving or something joyous."
Of the new single, which comes paired with a video viewable below, she revealed: "It’s my relentless arena country star moment—my shameless Tim McGraw cheeseball hit."
The Brooklyn-based musician will support the record with a US tour later in 2021, followed by UK and European tour in March 2022. Tickets are on sale now.
