LUMP, the team up of Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay, have unveiled a new song.

We Cannot Resist serves as the latest preview of the duo's forthcoming second album, 'Animal', due out on July 30 via Partisan/Chrysalis. It follows the previously shared cuts Climb Every Wall and the title track.

The alt-pop offering is anchored by a bass-driven melody with layers of electronic sounds that builds to a catchy pop chorus. It comes paired with a Christian Cargill-directed video which features the project's LUMP creature. Speaking about the single, Lindsay said:

"It wants to be this massive pop track, but it’s been twisted. I like that when the chorus comes in you’re like 'Wow!' It’s this huge pop chorus, but then it becomes really creepy with the whispered 'We cannot resist'."

Marling added: "This is another one about hedonism. But it was tricky because it’s such American imagery. I remember we had to stop and start and redo quite a lot of the lyrical takes because saying things like 'Down to burn rubber' are quite awkward to say in an English accent."

LUMP will support the record with a short UK tour in August and September. Tickets are on sale now.
