St Vincent has shared a cover of Metallica's Sad But True.

The industrial reimagination is the latest cut from 'The Metallica Blacklist', a tribute album celebrating the 30th anniversary of the thrash icons' classic self-titled LP, also known as 'The Black Album'.

The pounding new version doesn't deviate too far from the original cut, with Annie Clark putting an art-rock spin on the melody while utilising a vocal filter. Tyneside singer-songwriter Sam Fender has also unveiled a stripped back piano-based live reinterpretation of the song, and Jason Isbell has posted his take on the track.

Last week saw Miley Cyrus take on Nothing Else Matters with WATT, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo and Chad Smith, while Latin star Juanes' reworked Enter Sandman.

The star-studded charity record will feature 53 artists covering tracks from the 1991 album. It'll arrive digitally on September 10, with physical formats following on October 1. According to the band's website: "All profits will be donated to charities of each contributing artist’s choice along with Metallica's own foundation, All Within My Hands."

Metallica were recently confirmed as headliners for Prague Rocks and Madrid's Mad Cool Festival in summer 2022.

St Vincent, meanwhile, will embark on a US tour this fall, supporting her sixth studio album, 'Daddy's Home', released in May.

In April, Sam Fender postponed his Hypersonic Missiles UK Tour for a second time due to COVID-19, with rescheduled dates still to be announced.

Metallica Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Wed June 22 2022 - PRAGUE Let Nany Airport (Czech Republic)
Wed July 06 2022 - MADRID Mad Cool Festival (Spain)
