Manchester Orchestra Confirm London And Manchester Acoustic Shows For January

Manchester Orchestra will play a handful of acoustic shows early in 2022.
The Atlanta band's songwriters Andy Hull and Robert McDowell will perform at London's Union Chapel and Manchester's Gorilla on January 13 and 14, respectively, with tickets on sale now. They also have gigs lined up in Amsterdam and Berlin.
The run will give fans a chance to hear unique versions of their favourite Manchester Orchestra songs, including tracks from the group's sixth studio LP, 'The Million Masks Of God', released back in April via Loma Vista Recordings.
Alongside the news, the band have shared a pulsing, synth-laden rework of one of the record’s singles, Telepath, by New York's Dirty Projectors. Of the track's origin, Hull said:
"Telepath is ultimately about the ebb and flow of lifelong commitment to another person. Recognising that even the best relationships in our lives can have extreme ups and downs. At the end of the day, it’s those that we have chosen to love and, more importantly, those that have chosen to love us that truly matter. This is my attempt to further commit for the long haul."
It follows Local Natives' revamp of Bed Head, with both cuts set to feature on an upcoming EP collection that's to be announced soon.
Manchester Orchestra will kick off a North American tour in support of the record today (October 5) in Dallas, Texas, with further stateside dates lined up next spring.
