Foals have released a new single.

2am premiered on Radio 1 as Clara Amfo's Hottest Record and serves as a preview of their new album, 'Life Is Yours', which they've revealed is arriving this summer, though no release date has been confirmed. Frontman Yannis Philippakis said:

“Musically ‘2am’ is one of the poppiest songs we’ve ever written. It’s about repetitive cycles of destructive behaviour, which I think lots of people can relate to, and certainly it’s an expression of something that I struggle with. There’s something cathartic about expressing that feeling to this upbeat music that’s got a sense of release and the hope of resolution.”

The track finds the British rockers bringing elements of funk and dance music into the mix to match the song's nightlife-inspired lyrics: "It's 2am and I've gone and lost my friends, but I can’t sleep alone again."

The Oxford trio previously teased the follow-up to 2019's 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1' and 'Part 2' with the single Wake Me Up, released in November.

Foals have shows across the UK and Ireland lined up for the spring and summer, including dates that were rescheduled due to COVID-19.
