Ben Harper has returned with a new single, We Need To Talk About It.
Produced by Harper himself, alongside Grammy Award-winner Sheldon Gomberg, the fiery track serves as the first preview of the singer-songwriter's upcoming LP, 'Bloodline Maintenance', due out on July 22 via his new label home Chrysalis Records.
The soulful, gospel tune rolls out with a slow, blues aesthetic, while Harper's emotional vocals scrutinise slavery's long-lasting wounds. Press play below.
Harper—joined by his long-time band The Innocent Criminals—will embark on a tour of North America and Europe this summer, mixing headline dates with festival appearances and shows supporting Jack Johnson. He'll also open for Harry Styles on his 15-night run at Los Angeles' Kia Forum in the autumn.
