Egyptian Blue Announce Debut Album 'A Living Commodity' With New Single Skin

Egyptian Blue have shared details of their debut album.
Following up their singles Geisha and Matador, the Brighton four-piece have announced they'll release 'A Living Commodity' on October 27 via Yala! Records.
To accompany the news, they've dropped the track Skin, a post-punk offering propelled by passages of jagged, tension-building guitars and crashing percussion. Vocalist and guitarist Andy Buss said:
"Skin was a demo I wrote on my balcony on a hot summer’s day. I became completely infatuated by the shakers, insisting that this is a shaker song and the rest is just background noise. It’s a simple song and kind of structurally unorthodox.
"But again as many EB songs have the tendency to complicate simple ideas, Skin certainly wasn’t an exception. I see wide open spaces snapping into a tight and clean portrait and back and forth between them. It toys with the idea of being OK then not OK and pining to wear another’s Skin in the climate of discontent in yourself and your situations."
The band, who have been steadily building a reputation in the British indie scene, will play Bluedot festival at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire this Saturday (July 22), before supporting Royal Blood on Brighton Beach on July 29. They also have a UK and European tour scheduled for the autumn.
