L.S. Dunes have released a new single.

Old Wounds follows the previously released standalone single Benadryl Subreddit, which came out in June. Both songs were recorded at the Rancho De La Luna studio in Joshua Tree, California with the Grammy-nominated British producer Alex Newport.

The new track clocks in at five-and-a-half minutes and is a slow-burn post-hardcore number that builds to a beautifully chaotic end. It's a change from its predecessor, which is a riotous punk-rock leaning offering. Guitarist Frank Iero said:

:“’Old Wounds” was a song that Travis brought to the band a while back. In getting ready for the upcoming desert session, Anthony came back around to it and ended up singing an incredible melody over it. After hearing Anthony’s voice on that song, it was pretty obvious what needed to be played over those existing melodies. ‘Old Wounds’ definitely feels like it represents the cold nights out in the desert for me and it might be one of my favourite songs we have done as a band.”

“The way everyone drifted into this song and brought their own energy was one of the most organic and natural approaches to songwriting I have ever been a part of," added guitarist Travis Stever.

"From the initial instrumental ideas to the vocals Anthony added, all the way to the production, it just flowed. Like we had a road map for where the song would go already. The feelings it derives from me, and the continued layers make it possibly my favourite song I have ever been a part of writing.”

The band, completed by vocalist Anthony Green, bassist Tim Payne, and drummer Tucker Rule, released their debut album, 'Past Lives', in 2022.

They've recently completed a headline North American tour, and will appear at Chicago's Riot Fest on September 17. Following that, they'll be joining Pierce The Veil on their Jaws Of Life Tour of the US later this year.
