Pillow Queens have shared details of their third studio album.

'Name Your Sorrow' will arrive through Royal Mountain Records on April 19 and finds the Irish quartet at their most vulnerable and self-assured through songs that centre around queerness, insecurity, desire, heartbreak and resilience.

Recorded with producer Collin Pastore at the Northern Ireland studio Analogue Catalogue, it was first teased with the November single, Suffer. Today, a further preview has been shared in the form of Gone, a raw, honest, track that offers heavy, swirling guitars while exploring insecurities that come with leaving a relationship. The band said:

"Gone is a song that looks into the vapid nature of brief romantic encounters and the hyperbole that can become so monotonous, it makes you jaded."

Lead vocalist, guitarist and bassist Pamela Connolly added: "Lines like, 'I was in your top five things to do' convey a lack of self-worth that’s tackled throughout the album. It’s a song that showcases a vulnerability that allows for no silver linings–it's the reality of how someone is feeling in the moment."

Commenting on the record as a whole, the band's Cathy McGuinness said: "It is about stages of love, loss and grief and how they can all exist alongside one another — intertwined, messy, beautiful–how both love and loss can coexist."

Pillow Queens will support the LP with a series of UK tour dates in June. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (January 26). They'll also play their biggest headline show yet at Dublin's Iveagh Gardens on July 13. Tickets for that performance are already on sale.
