Vampire Weekend Release Two New Songs Capricorn And Gen-X Cops, Announce North American Tour

Vampire Weekend have released two new songs.
Capricorn and Gen-X Cops will appear on 'Only God Was Above Us', the band's upcoming fifth album and their first in almost five years, which is due out on April 5.
The former offers a darker, introspective edge to the New York group's bright indie sound, while the latter is a more rowdy, punk-inspired affair. Press play below.
Announced earlier in February, the follow-up to 2019's 'Father Of The Bride' is co-produced by the band's Ezra Koenig and their long-time collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid, with mixing handled by Dave Fridmann and mastering by Emily Lazar.
Its release will be followed by a "special eclipse show" at the Moody Amphitheatre in Austin, Texas on April 8. Tickets are on sale now.
They'll then embark on a North American tour in the summer, with dates also confirmed for the fall. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on February 23.
Support will come from a host of acts, including LA LOM (aka the Los Angeles League of Musicians), the English Beat, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mike Gordon, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Princess (featuring Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum), Cults, Mark Ronson (DJ set), the Brothers Macklovitch, and a Billy Joel tribute act called Turnstiles.
