Eminem Releases New Song Houdini

Friday, 31 May 2024 Written by Jon Stickler

Eminem has released his much-teased new single.

Houdini serves as the first preview of the Detroit rapper's forthcoming album, believed to be titled 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)'.

The bouncy track samples Steve Miller's 1982 hit Abracadabra and comes with a star-studded, Rich Lee-directed video that finds Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, resurrecting his sadistic, violent alter-ego Slim Shady, who was introduced on the 1997 'The Slim Shady' EP.

The clip sees Slim stepping through a portal from 2002 to recreate his Without Me video in the present day, with a little help from Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, 50 Cent and comedian Shane Gillis. Take a look below.

A release date for 'The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)' is still to be announced, though it's expected to arrive in the summer, following up 2020's 'Music To Be Murdered By'. Eminem teased the project with a post on X, formerly Twitter, back in April.
