Osees Announce New Album 'SORCS 80' With First Single Cassius, Brutus & Judas

Osees have announced a new album for the summer.
'SORCS 80' will arrive through Castle Face Records on August 9, following up last year's 'Intercepted Message'.
Alongside the news, the West Coast rockers have shared the first single from the LP, Cassius, Brutus & Judas, which buzzes with their insistent hooky, punk, synth-driven sound.
Bandleader John Dwyer describes it as, "a song about betrayal and how it's often fueled by fear, greed and cowardice. Three classic betrayers contemplated through the lens of 20/20 hindsight punk song. How anybody has bandwidth for keeping people like this in your orbit I'll never know."
Commenting on the record as a whole, he explained: "This album was a self-imposed ambitious project for us. Something to kick in the creative flow. The last few years, having been a challenging time in general, felt like a good time for a pivot. The last two albums were so guitar and keyboard centric, I wanted a weird and fun set of parameters for us to work with. I demo'd everything at home on cassette 4 track (harkening back to simpler times) using drum loops, and just had at it 'til I had a pile of "songs".
Osees will support the record's release with headline shows at both London's Electric Ballroom and Dingwalls in August, before embarking on a North American tour in the autumn. They'll also play various European festivals this summer, including Green Man in Brecon, Wales on August 17. Tickets are on sale now.
