Hot Chip Announce Best Of Album 'Joy In Repetition', Confirm London Show For September

Hot Chip have announced their first Best Of album.
'Joy In Repetition' will be released on September 5, and comprises the synth-pop group's biggest songs from across their discography, including floor-fillers Ready For The Floor, I Feel Better, and Over and Over.
The career-spanning anthology also features the new summery song Devotion, which serves up the group's signature fusion of electronic music, indie-pop and psych-pop. Vocalist Alexis Taylor describes it as, "a celebration of the devotion to doing this project together. I think of Joe [Goddard] as being like Brian Wilson, with this huge dedication to finding how to make the most amazing pop music."

"I’ve spent a lot of time shooting in Japan recently, and have become obsessed with keibiin (Japanese security guards). I was waiting for a train and noticed a stoic security guard standing on the platform, his arm extended, robotically waving what looked like a lightsabre, and the most hyper-focused stare I’ve ever seen in my life.
"There was nothing behind those eyes but pure devotion to his craft. I started thinking about these humble heroes hitting the streets every morning—rain or shine—guiding us through traffic, telling us where to park, protecting us from obliviously stepping into active construction zones. What about the individual underneath the helmet? This video is me pouring one out on the curb for the devoted, hard-working keibiin everywhere!"
Hot Chip will celebrate 'Joy In Repetition' with a performance of the album in full at London's Troxy on September 5, before shows in New York and Los Angeles on September 7 and 9. respectively. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (July 11).
Before their new dates, they'll play Sheffield's Tramlines festival later in July, and support Underworld at Audley End House and Gardens in Saffron Walden, Essex on August 3 as part of the Heritage Live concert series. Tickets are on sale now.
