White Lies Announce Seventh Album 'Night Light', Post New Single In The Middle

White Lies have announced their seventh studio album.
'Night Light', the follow-up to 2022's 'As I Try Not To Fall Apart', will arrive via Play It Again Sam on November 7.
Recorded at Church Studios in North London and produced by Riley McIntrye, with mixing by Chris Coady, much of the record was written in lead vocalist Harry McVeigh's London flat, choosing simplicity over equipment-heavy setups. The band were also joined by keyboardist Seth Evans as a creative collaborator for the studio sessions.
To coincide with the announcement, the London trio have shared the album's closing number, In The Middle, a driving blend of Motorik basslines, synths and soaring vocals that build in intensity. The band said:
"The lyrics to the verses for In The Middle have been written in notebooks for nearly a decade, waiting for the right vessel, which has finally presented itself in this hypnotic and locomotive piece of music. It's a song about moving, not necessarily moving on, but moving to another emotional place needed for growth. It also gives you another taste of our musical growth on this forthcoming album where we fully let our hair and scalps down to embrace a more experimental side of arrangement. And, by the way, it's a saxophone, not a flute."
The album will also feature the previously unveiled single and opening track, Nothing On Me, which arrived in May alongside details of the band's UK and European tour. The trek includes two dates at The Roundhouse in London early next year.
Ahead of the trek, White Lies will join Ocean Colour Scene at Dundee's Slessor Gardens on July 25, before supporting The Smashing Pumpkins at shows in London, Halifax, Scarborough and Colchester next month. They'll also join Ocean Colour Scene and Jake Bugg as special guests for Razorlight at an all-dayer held at the Darlington Arena stadium, County Durham on August 23. Tickets are on sale now.
