Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album.
The pop icon revealed 'The Life Of a Showgirl' following speculation that began yesterday (August 11), when a mysterious countdown clock appeared on her official website, sparking rumours of a new era.
The record was announced across the 14-time Grammy-winner's own social media accounts and during a clip for the New Heights podcast, which is co-hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother, fellow NFL star Jason Kelce. Her appearance on the podcast will air tomorrow (August 13), when she's expected to share more details.
'The Life Of a Showgirl' will follow last year's 'The Tortured Poets Department' and its extended edition, 'The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology'. It's currently available for pre-order on the singer's website, though a release date, cover art, and tracklist have yet to be unveiled.
Alongside the album announcement, Swift has dropped a Spotify playlist titled 'And, Baby, That's Show Business For You', featuring 22 of her previously released tracks produced by Max Martin and Shellback. The selection has led fans to speculate that the renowned duo may be involved in producing Swift's forthcoming record.
Notably, songs helmed by long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff are missing from the list, suggesting a possible shift in direction on the project.
