Taylor Swift Reveals Release Date, Cover Art And Tracklist For New Album 'The Life Of A Showgirl'

Taylor Swift has revealed further details about her highly anticipated 12th studio album.
The superstar singer-songwriter has confirmed that 'The Life Of A Showgirl', which she revealed was written during the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, will arrive on October 3. It follows last year's 'The Tortured Poets Department', and its extended edition, 'The Anthology'.
The 14-time Grammy-winner also unveiled the record's cover art and tracklist, which includes a collaboration with fellow chart-topper Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.
The record sees her reunited with co-producers Max Martin and Shellback, the Swedish songwriting duo who helped craft some of Swift's biggest hits, including 22, Blank Space, and I Knew You Were Trouble.
Revealing the details during her appearance on her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast, she said:
"This is my new album, The Life Of A Showgirl. It's something I was working on while I was in Europe on the Eras tour.
"I just love music. I would be playing shows three nights in a row, then I would have three days off. I would fly to Sweden. Working on this, I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating."
On the record's themes, she added: "This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant. It just comes from like the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. And so that effervescence has come through on this record.
"With Tortured Poets Department, I was like, ‘Here’s a data dump of everything I thought and felt in two or three years. Here’s 31 songs.’ This is 12. There’s not a 13th, there’s no other ones coming. This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time…Every single song is on this album for hundreds of reasons, you know, and you couldn’t take one out, and it’d be the same album. You couldn’t add one. It’s just right."
Swift took to her social media accounts to share some of the album's artwork. Her official webstore has also listed four limited edition CD variants, with four different album covers, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
